On the top right side of many keyboards, you’ll see a LED which usually has a lock symbol with the letter A. The name “Caps Lock” also comes from old typewriters, where you could mechanically lock the Shift key with a lever. If you press this key, the function of the Shift key is activated until you press Caps Lock again. Directly above the Shift key, there is a Caps Lock key. You do not need to hold down the Shift key to type long sections of text in capital letters. When the carriage shifted up, the uppercase letter struck the ribbon instead of the lowercase letter. Each type hammer had an uppercase and a lowercase character, one above the other. This would cause the type hammer to strike the ribbon and the paper at a different point. Originally, when you held down the Shift key on a typewriter, the carriage holding the roller and the paper would “shift” upwards by about a half an inch. Currently, we have nothing to announce regarding alternate methods for receiving VIP reward items in the future. The term “Shift” dates back to the days of mechanical typewriters. There will not be any new rewards added to the Vault Insider Program before it shuts down on May 18, 2020. Will any more rewards be added to the Vault Insider Program before it ends? Will I be able to earn these rewards through other means? You will still keep any in-game items you’ve already redeemed via the Vault Insider Program linked to your SHiFT account, but you will not be able to acquire these items with VIP points once the Vault Insider Program is shut down. When the Vault Insider Program ends, all VIP profiles will be disabled and unredeemed VIP points will be forfeited. What happens after the Vault Insider Program ends? Can I still keep the rewards I redeemed through the Vault Insider Program? Now that we’re well past launch, we want those kinds of rewards to be available to as many players and fans as possible, and ensure you’re rewarded simply for playing the game itself. The Vault Insider Program focused on rewarding you for activities you could do pre-launch, like watching trailers and engaging with social content. Why is the Vault Insider Program being discontinued? Yes, you can still create VIP profiles, earn VIP points, and use them to redeem VIP items before the program ends on May 18, 2020. The Vault Insider Program will end at 11:59pm PDT on May 18, 2020.Ĭan I sign-up for the Vault Insider Program as a new member? Can I still earn and redeem points before the program ends?
